Marinage is a British educational initiative offering personalised support in languages, academia, and beginner programming. We proudly serve both English and Spanish-speaking communities - with a dedicated focus on empowering migrants through accessible language and learning.
Founded by an experienced British teacher and language learner with strong ties to Trinidad and Tobago, Marinage reflects a blend of cultures, perspectives, and a lifelong belief that education should feel empowering - not intimidating.
The name Marinage carries deep personal meaning. It honours the founder’s grandmother - a Trinidadian woman who believed in the power of education. It also pays tribute to the Caribbean history of maroonage, a legacy of freedom, resistance, and self-determination.

Q: What subjects and levels do you teach?
A: We support students at primary, secondary, and adult level across English, Maths, Geography, Spanish, Portuguese, and coding. Whether you're preparing for exams like CXC, GCSE or just want to learn something new, we tailor lessons to your needs.
Q: Do I need prior experience for the coding or language classes?
A: Not at all! We offer beginner-friendly options and flexible pacing. Everyone starts somewhere - and we're here to guide you.
Q: Isn’t online learning less effective than face-to-face classes?
A: Not at all. Online learning can be just as effective, and in many cases, more flexible. We use interactive activities, live discussions, and practical exercises to make sure you stay engaged. Plus, you can revisit materials and practise at your own pace, which isn’t always possible in a classroom.
Q: Will I actually learn anything through a screen?
A: Yes. What matters most is not the physical classroom but the teaching style. Our lessons are designed to be clear, supportive, and interactive. Many of our learners have improved their confidence, passed exams, and reached personal goals through online classes.
Q: What if I’m not good with technology - will I struggle?
A: Don’t worry. If you can open WhatsApp, you can handle our classes. We use simple platforms, and we provide guidance on how to join. If you ever get stuck, we’re here to help you step by step.
Q: I don’t have the best internet. Can I still join?
A: Yes. We keep lessons accessible for people with different internet speeds. If your connection drops, you won’t be left behind - we share lesson notes and recordings so you can catch up easily.
Q: How do I know your programme is worth the money?
A: We focus on practical results. Every lesson is designed to give you something useful - whether that’s preparing for work, exams, or everyday communication. We also keep our prices affordable while still offering personalised support that free resources don’t provide.
Q: Aren’t there free resources on YouTube? Why should I pay?
A: Free videos are great for extra practice, but they don’t give you feedback, personal guidance, or a learning plan. With us, you’ll have a real teacher who knows your goals and helps you stay on track.
Q: How do I know this isn’t a scam?
A: We are a registered, transparent service and provide clear contact details, reviews, and examples of our work. Many of our students and clients share their positive experiences, which you can also read online.
Q: Will I get personal attention, or is it just another big Zoom class?
A: You will definitely get personal attention. Our groups are small, and we also offer one-to-one support when needed. Every learner has the chance to ask questions, practise, and receive feedback.
Q: Will my child actually focus in an online class?
A: Yes. Our sessions are designed to be interactive and engaging, with activities that keep children interested. We use short, varied tasks to make sure they don’t lose concentration. Parents often tell us their children look forward to class time.
Q: What if I’m shy or nervous speaking online?
A: That’s completely normal. We create a supportive, encouraging space where mistakes are seen as part of learning. Many students who started shy now participate confidently because of the safe environment we build.
Q: What if I miss a class - do I lose out completely?
A: No. We share materials, and in some cases recordings, so you can review at any time. If you need extra support, you can also book a catch-up session.
Q: How long before I see progress?
A: Progress depends on your goals and practice. Some learners notice improvements in just a few weeks, especially in confidence. For bigger goals (like exams or fluency), steady progress over a few months is typical. We’ll track your development together.
Q: How long is each class?
A: Private classes are usually 1 hour, but we also offer flexible packages, crash courses, and study groups. Some sessions may be 30–90 mins depending on the format.
Q: Can I take multiple programmes at the same time?
A: Absolutely. Some students combine language and academic or coding support. We’ll help you plan what’s manageable.
Q: How do I pay and book a class?
A: Payment can be made via fast deposit (cash or online), PayPal or wire transfer, and we’ll explain everything step-by-step once you enrol.
