At Marinage, we believe languages are more than just words - they are bridges to opportunities, culture, and connection. Whether you’re learning for work, study, travel, or personal growth, we design our programmes to meet you where you are.
We currently offer Spanish, Portuguese, and French classes, available as:
Private lessons (one-to-one, fully personalised)
Semi-private lessons (a few friends or family members learning together)
Small group classes (seasonal sessions with 4–8 learners)
All classes are taught by a language teacher with a degree in languages and over a decade of teaching and tutoring experience, both in the UK and Trinidad & Tobago.

Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world, and a vital bridge for Trinidad’s growing migrant community.
Whether you’re in a relationship, working, or just love the culture - we help you speak with confidence and purpose.
French is still widely used in the Caribbean, Africa, and Europe - and learning it opens doors in business, education, and international spaces.
Start from scratch or build on what you learned in school.
Spoken in Brazil, Portugal, and parts of Africa and Asia, Portuguese is one of the fastest-growing languages worldwide.
Perfect for travel, work, or exploring Caribbean-Latin American ties.
🌍 Spanish is the 2nd most spoken language globally.
🇧🇷 Portuguese is spoken by over 250 million people worldwide.
🌴 French remains important in Caribbean and diplomatic circles.
💼 Multilingual people have better job prospects, higher salaries, and deeper cultural connections.
❤️ Learning a new language improves memory, empathy, and confidence.

Q: What’s the best age to start learning?
A: We offer lessons for all ages - from 7 to 70! It’s never too late or too early.
Q: Can children take lessons?
A: Yes! We have age-appropriate sessions for kids as young as 7, with fun, interactive activities.
Q: Can we learn as a family, couple, or friends?
A: Absolutely. We offer small group pricing so families, friends, and couples can learn together.
Q: Are lessons conversation-focused or academic?
A: Both! We tailor lessons to your goals - whether it’s travel, conversation, exams, or business.
Q: Can I join if I know nothing at all?
A: Definitely. We welcome total beginners and design lessons to match your level and pace.
Q: How do you know my level?
A: We do an informal placement check during your first session or trial to place you at the right level.
Q: What’s included in a monthly package?
A: Weekly live sessions, personalised resources, practice tasks, and support between lessons via WhatsApp or email.
Q: How long does it take to learn a language?
A: It depends on your goals and practice. Many learners start feeling confident after 2–3 months of regular weekly lessons.
Q: What’s the best option for me - private, semi-private, or group?
A: Private lessons give the fastest progress. Semi-private or group options are more affordable and offer interaction with other learners.
Q: Do I need to buy a textbook?
A: No. All core materials are provided. Some learners choose to supplement with a textbook, but it’s not required.
Q: Do you offer certificates of completion?
A: Yes - students completing a course or programme receive a digital certificate of participation.
Q: What if I need to miss a lesson?
A: We offer flexible rescheduling options depending on your package - just let us know in advance.
Q: Isn’t online learning less effective than face-to-face classes?
A: Not at all. Online learning can be just as effective, and in many cases, more flexible. We use interactive activities, live discussions, and practical exercises to make sure you stay engaged. Plus, you can revisit materials and practise at your own pace, which isn’t always possible in a classroom.
Q: Will I actually learn anything through a screen?
A: Yes. What matters most is not the physical classroom but the teaching style. Our lessons are designed to be clear, supportive, and interactive. Many of our learners have improved their confidence, passed exams, and reached personal goals through online classes.
Q: What if I’m not good with technology - will I struggle?
A: Don’t worry. If you can open WhatsApp, you can handle our classes. We use simple platforms, and we provide guidance on how to join. If you ever get stuck, we’re here to help you step by step.
Q: I don’t have the best internet. Can I still join?
A: Yes. We keep lessons accessible for people with different internet speeds. If your connection drops, you won’t be left behind - we share lesson notes and recordings so you can catch up easily.
Q: How do I know your programme is worth the money?
A: We focus on practical results. Every lesson is designed to give you something useful - whether that’s preparing for work, exams, or everyday communication. We also keep our prices affordable while still offering personalised support that free resources don’t provide.
Q: Aren’t there free resources on YouTube? Why should I pay?
A: Free videos are great for extra practice, but they don’t give you feedback, personal guidance, or a learning plan. With us, you’ll have a real teacher who knows your goals and helps you stay on track.
