The Founder’s Journey
Marinage was created by Dana Nurse, whose experiences as both a learner and educator inspired this project. Though born in London, England, Dana has spent many years visiting and working in Trinidad & Tobago. These experiences gave her a deep understanding of what it feels like to adjust to new systems, cultures, and ways of learning - knowledge that now shapes every programme at Marinage.
A Personal Legacy
The name Marinage comes from Dana’s grandmother, who was from Pasea, Trinidad. She instilled the belief that education is a lifelong priority, and her values continue to inspire Marinage today. This project honours her legacy by making learning accessible, empowering, and meaningful for everyone who wants to grow.
Experience That Matters
Over the past decade, Dana has worked in schools and community settings across eight countries - including Colombia, Uganda, Italy, and Brazil. She has seen firsthand how tailored, practical education builds confidence, creates opportunities, and strengthens community connections. These principles guide everything we do at Marinage.
Our Mission in Action
At Marinage, every course, lesson, and service is designed to remove barriers, build confidence, and provide lasting results. We combine international teaching experience with a commitment to inclusivity, flexibility, and real-world skills, helping learners thrive in whichever area matters most to them.
